In 1918, the Alabama Ministry Network (previously Southeastern District) passed two significant resolutions. First they encouraged every church to appoint a Home Missions Secretary to “stimulate the missionary work in the homeland and to spread the gospel where it had not gone.” Secondly, they encouraged every church to conduct prayer meetings and to send offerings once a month for home missions work to the District Treasurer. Alabama has continued to do this under Church Planting and Development (formerly Home Missions) since 1980. The vision to plant churches across Alabama has been in our DNA since the very beginning. Praise the Lord!
